Putting emphasis on the introduction of e-Parliament system, the Library Committee of the 13th Parliament on Thursday decided to seek opinions of the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition through the Speaker over the issue.

The decision was taken at the 6th meeting of the committee held at the Parliament Bhaban with Deputy Speaker and committee chairman Barrister Kayser Kamal in the chair.

To this end, the committee recommended that its members meet the Speaker on September 6 to discuss the matter of gaining opinions of the two top leaders of the House.

Besides, the meeting reviewed progress in implementing decisions and recommendations made at previous meetings.

It further discussed increasing manpower in the Library and Research sub-section to improve the quality of reference and research services provided by the Parliament Library.

The library committee also formed a three-member sub-committee, headed by Dr Md Mahbubur Rahman MP to determine the job description and responsibilities of consultants specialising in matters related to the Ministries of Health, Education, Home Affairs, Finance, and LGRD and Cooperatives.

Two other members of the sub-committee are Sayeed Al Noman MP and Muhammad Nazibur Rahman MP.

Committee members Whip ABM Ashraf Uddin (Nizan), Dr Md Mahabubur Rahman, Nayab Yusuf Ahmed, Mir Ahmad Binquasem, Sayeed Al Noman, Muhammad Nazibur Rahman and Akhter Hossen attended the meeting.
