Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Begum Mahmuda Akter put him on a four-day remand in the case filed under the Firearms Act while Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahinur Rahman granted a three-day remand for him in the case filed under the Narcotics Control Act.
Gulshan thana police produced the Jubo League leader before the court in the evening seeking a seven-day remand, said Deputy Commissioner (Gulshan Division) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Sudip Kumar Chatterjee.
In the afternoon, three cases were filed against Khalid with Gulshan Police Station in connection with the recovery of illegal firearms and drugs from his possession as well as for money laundering.
On Wednesday, members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested Khalid, also president of Fakirerpool Youngmen’s Club, from Gulshan area for running an illegal casino in the club.
Three firearms, including an unauthorised one along with bullets, and Yaba pills were recovered from his possession.
The arrest came after a Rab mobile court detained 142 people from the casino.
Besides, Tk 24 lakh in cash, foreign liquor and some casino boards were seized from casino.
