Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain on Wednesday inaugurated a month-long photography and graffiti exhibition in memory of the July martyrs at the Foreign Service Academy.
“We want to remember the past not with sadness, but with pride. This pride should be reflected not only in speeches or remembrance, but also in daily thoughts, perspectives and sense of responsibility - this is our hope,” said the Foreign Affairs Adviser paying deep tributes to the great sacrifices of the July martyrs.
Adviser Hossain said it is the responsibility of the state to preserve these memories and the exhibition is part of that effort.
“We wanted to make something visible that would make people think and would be embedded in people's minds,” he said.
Foreign Secretary Asad Alam Siam, Secretary Dr Nazrul Islam and officials of all levels of the ministry were present at the event.
Earlier, after Zuhr prayers, a programme was held at the ministry's mosque where its officials and employees sought forgiveness for the July martyrs.
