Inqilab Moncho and Inqilab Cultural Centre have announced a month-long programme to commemorate the July Uprising, honour the sacrifices of the martyrs and uphold the people's democratic aspirations.
According to a statement, the programmes will feature a range of cultural, literary, educational and public engagement activities throughout July with the aim of preserving the spirit of the July movement, introducing its history to the younger generation and promoting social awareness.
From July 1 to 16, the Inqilab Cultural Centre will host several events, including book and art exhibitions, film screenings, song releases, remembrance programmes, publication ceremonies, and prayers for the martyrs alongside visits to the families and graves of those killed during the uprising.
The second phase will be held at Shahbagh from July 21 to July 36 (July 21 to August 5) under the banner of Inqilab Moncho. The programmes include cultural performances, poetry recitations, film screenings, discussions, student solidarity, gatherings of martyrs' families and commemorative events marking the legacy of the July uprising.
The organisers have called on cultural activists, writers, artistes, students, young people and people from all walks of life to participate in the month-long programme.
