A Bangladeshi woman died of Covid-19 at a hospital in neighbouring India while undergoing treatment for renal failure, her family members said Saturday.
Sharmin Akhter Sriti,32, a resident of Kushtia, passed away at Fortis Hospital in the eastern city of Kolkata on Friday.
According to Sharmin's maternal uncle Nurunnabi Babu, Sharmin went to India on March 20 to be treated for kidney problems.

"But a week ago, she tested positive for Covid-19 and shifted to the hospital's ICU after her condition worsened. She passed away on Friday," Babu said.
Steps are being taken to bring back Sharmin's mortal remains, he added.
On April 26, Bangladesh sealed its border with India in the wake of a huge surge in Covid-19 cases in the neighbouring country.
