Chapainawabganj, Mar 17 (UNB) – Language Movement hero Advocate Osman Gani who died at a hospital in Dhaka on Saturday night was laid to eternal rest here on Sunday afternoon.
He was buried at Rehaichar Eidgah graveyard around 5:15pm, said family sources.
Osman Gani breathed his last around 9:30pm on Saturday at the age of 89 while undergoing treatment at Birdem Hospital in the capital.
Osman Gani, founding president of Chapainawabganj Diabetics Association, was admitted to the hospital two weeks ago as he was suffering from old-age complications.
He left behind wife, four sons, three daughters and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death.
Osman Gani, then a student of Dhaka University, took part in the 1952 Language Movement in Dhaka as a member of the committee convened by Language Movement hero Abdul Matin.
