The Core Committee on Law and Order has taken some decisions to maintain law and order and improve the overall situation further.
The meeting of the Core Committee was held on Monday with Home Adviser Jahangir Alam Chowdhury in the chair.
The decisions include:
• Number of check posts installed in important areas should be increased and the number of patrols in crime-prone areas will be increased. A joint force comprising members of Bangladesh Army, different units of police and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) will be formed to conduct operations in the target areas.
• An additional patrol team of Bangladesh Navy will be deployed on some important roads of the capital and an additional patrol team of the Coast Guard will be deployed in some areas.
• Chiefs of different units of police, deputy police commissioners, brigade chiefs of Bangladesh Army and other responsible officers will brief the media from time to time in every incident.
• Motorbikes will be purchased for members of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), BGB, Ansar and Bangladesh Coast Guard members so that criminals can be caught by patrolling in the alleys immediately.

• Operations will be conducted in possible places where muggers and robbers may be located and they will be arrested.
• Patrolling will also be increased outside Dhaka city, especially in Tongi, Basila, Keraniganj and Munshiganj areas.
• 500 members of the Armed Police Battalion (APBn) will work with the police after being entrusted to the DMP.
• Various steps will be taken to disseminate information against rumors and propaganda.
LGRD Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan, Housing and Public Works Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan, special assistant of Chief Adviser Khoda Box Chowdhury and high officials concerned of the law enforcement agencies were present there.
