At least 16 people died on Tuesday after being struck by lightning in Netrakona, Faridpur, Manikganj and Kishoreganj.
Of them, eight people were killed in Netrakona, four in Faridpur, two in Manikganj and one in Kishoreganj, according to our local correspondents.
In Netrakona, lightning strikes killed eight people and injured several others in Kendua, Khaliajuri and Madan upazilas.

The deceased have been identified as Bayezid Khan, 42, Fazlu Mia, 55, Md Atabur Rahman, 21 , Md Sharif Mia, 8, Oshek Mia, 30, Bipul Mia, 32, Monir Hossain, 30, and Junayed, 11.
The deaths occurred between 2pm and 3pm, our correspondent reported citing police.
Meanwhile in Faridpur, four people including a woman were killed in separate incidents of lightning strikes in Sadar upazila.

The deceased were Anwara Begum, 38, Kabir Molla, 48, Dulal Khan, 58, and Kabir Sheikh, 40.
Besides, lightning strikes killed a day labourer and a school boy in the Sadar upazila of Manikganj. The victims were Azmat Ali, 50, and Asif Mollah, 14.
According to local sources, the incidents took place around 5:30pm.

Lightning also took away another young life at Kishorganj today.
The victim was identified as Ariful Islam (17).
