Police have recovered the body of Abdur Rashid Gain (52), a local BNP leader, from a rice field beside a road in Monirampur upazila of Jashore.
The body was discovered on Saturday morning in the Hakimpur area by locals. Later, police recovered the body in the afternoon. His (deceased’s) motorcycle was found lying nearby, said Monirampur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nur Mohammad Gazi.

Abdur Rashid Gain was the assistant publicity secretary of Keshabpur upazila’s Sagaradari union BNP unit. He was a resident of Ghopshana village of the upazila.
Sagaradari union BNP President Akram Hossain said, “Locals found his body in the rice field and informed us. When we arrived at the scene, we saw his motorcycle lying beside him.”

The body was sent to Jashore General Hospital for an autopsy. The exact cause of death will be known after the report is received, added the OC.
