Airport Armed Police Battalion (APBn) detaine a Bangladeshi expatriate with four gold bars and two bangles – weighing 517 grams in total at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Tuesday.
The detainee is Mojibor Rahman.
The market value of the seized products is about Tk 60 lakh.

Airport Armed Police Battalion (APBn) Additional Superintendent of Police Mohammad Ziaul Haque said Mojibor, an expatriate working in Saudi Arabia’s Dammam, came to Dhaka on an Etihad Airways flight.
After leaving the customs hall at the airport, he was questioned as his behaviour was suspicious. After being taken to the APBN office, Mujibur admitted to having gold during detailed interrogation, said the police official.

He (the arrestee) then took out four pieces of gold bars from inside his socks weighing 464 grams. And he pulled out another 53 grams of jewelry from his luggage, said the APBN additional SP.
Preparations are underway to file a case against the detained passenger under the Special Powers Act, said ASP Ziaul Haque Zia.
