A homeopathy doctor who sustained severe injuries in a road accident in the capital on Wednesday morning succumbed to his injuries at a hospital later, police said.
MA Matin Sarkar, 45, was a resident of Pagla village under Gafargaon upazila of Mymensingh. He used to live with his family in the capital’s Jatrabari area for a long time.
The victim’s neighbour Habibur Rahman and brother-in-law Arafat said Matin went out of the residence to purchase essentials around 11am.
He sustained serious injuries when he got stuck between two buses on his way home, they said.
Matin returned home and took homeopathic medicine to treat his injuries. But he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) when his condition worsened in the evening, said Md Bachhu Miah, an inspector at the DMCH police outpost.
Later he died, he said.
The body has been kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy, Bacchu said.
