During investigation, police found evidence against Shiblu and framed charges against him on July 14, last year.
According to the prosecution, the pet cat of one Mansur, a resident of the same building, went missing on February 1.
CCTV footage showed Shiblu kicking the cat. The footage further revealed that after the animal became motionless, the accused pressed it under his foot, apparently to ensure it was dead.
