A Dinajpur court on Monday sentenced a man to death for killing his wife over a family dispute in 2017.
The condemned convict is Probhat Chandra Roy, son of Lalu Chandra Roy of Madhavpur Chirakutipara in Dinajpur Sadar upazila.
Dinajpur Sessions Judge Jabid Hossain handed down the judgment this noon.

The court also fined the convict Tk 20,000.
According to the prosecution, Probhat got married to Bobita Rani in 2009. The couple have been blessed with two children.

On December 28, 2017, Probhat Chandra Roy beat his wife Bobita Rani with an iron rod, leaving her dead.
A case was filed at Kotwali police station on December 29 following a complaint lodged by Paritosh Chandra Roy, brother of the victim.
