Chattogram, May 19 (UNB) - Customs officials detained a man along with 96 gold bars, weighing around 11.25 kg, at Shah Amanat International Airport here on Sunday.
The arrestee is identified as Shahjahan, 42, a passenger of Regent Airlines flight coming from Bangkok.
Nur Uddin Milon, assistant director of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate, said being tipped off, they challenged the man while he was crossing a checkpost of the airport around 4:30pm.
Later, they recovered 96 gold bars worth Tk 4 crore from his possession.
