A 30-year-old man was killed after being struck by a speeding car in front of the Uttara BNS Center in Dhaka on Wednesday evening.
The deceased was identified as Mamunur Rashid, son of Abdul Jabbar, from Kona Panchrukhi village in Nandail upazila of Mymensingh district.
The accident occurred around 6:30 pm when the car hit him as he was crossing the road, leaving Mamunur and another person injured.

According to eyewitness Mahbubur Rahman Bakul, both victims were injured and taken to Bangladesh Medical College, where one received first aid and was discharged. However, Mamunur's injuries were severe, and he was later transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries around 9 pm.
The private car involved in the accident was seized by locals, who handed over both the vehicle and its driver to the police.

Mamunur's elder brother, Md. Harunur Rashid, said that Mamunur had been living with his wife in the North Azampur area of Dhaka, having married just six months ago. He had gone to the area for some personal work when the accident occurred.
Md. Faruk, in charge of the Dhaka Medical Police Camp, confirmed the death, citing a doctor’s report.
