A milad and doa mahfil was held at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Tuesday marking the 47th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Mourning Day.
A special munajat was offered seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu and other martyrs of August 15, 1975 carnage and continued peace, progress and prosperity of the nation.
Prime Minister’s Economic Affairs Adviser Dr Mashiur Rahman and Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman Fazlur Rahman spoke on the occasion highlighting the life and works of the Father of the Nation.
PM's Principal Secretary Dr Ahmad Kaikaus presided over the function.

Principal Coordinator of the SDG Affairs Zuena Aziz, PMO Senior Secretary Md Tofazzel Hossain Miah, Executive Chairman (Senior Secretary) of the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) Shaikh Yusuf Harun and Director General (DG) of the Special Security Force (SSF) Major General Md Majibur Rahman, among others, took part in the discussion.
PM's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim was present.
Officials and employees of the PMO also joined the milad and doa mahfil.
Military Secretary Major General Kabir Ahammad was also present.
