Narail district and sessions judge Nilufer Yeasmin granted his bail on TK 10,000 bond after hearing of a bail petition filed by Moudud.
The sedition case was filed against three people including Daily Amar Desh acting editor Mahmudur Rahman and Moudud Ahmed on December 12, 2017.
Police submitted chargesheet in the case on April, 29, 2019.
When the court issued arrest warrant against the accused, Moudud filed a bail petition with the High Court on January 27 this year.
The HC asked him to file the petition with the district court.
According to the case statement, Mahmudur Rahman at a programme at the Jatiya Press Club in the capital on December 1, 2017, claimed that Bangladesh is not an independent country as it has no sovereignty although it has land and population.
"Bangladesh is now 'a colony of India'. According to Political Science, Bangladesh can't be considered as a state. Sheikh Mujib had killed country's democracy and independence of mass media and buried it," he had said, according to the statement.
He also demanded that the mural of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman should not be on the premise of the Jatiya Press Club and claimed that the current government is illegal.
Moudud, who was present in the meeting did not protest the speech, rather he 'supported' and 'encouraged' by clapping.
