A man accused in a murder case was shot dead by assailants in Khulna.
The incident occurred around 11:15 pm behind the Baghmara Markazul Ulum Madrasa in the city. The deceased, identified as Sheikh Shahinul Haque Shaheen (50), was a resident of Doulatpur Kattikkul, said Khulna Police Station Officer-in-Charge Howlader Sanowar Hossain Masum.

Shaheen was an accused in the murder case of Huji Shahid in Daulatpur. He had been evading arrest and was reportedly hiding in different locations, said the OC.
Police were notified after the body of a man was found behind the madrasa. Upon reaching the scene, officers confirmed the identity of the deceased as Shaheen. Reports indicated that the assailants shot him in the ear, with the bullet passing through his head and exiting. He died at the scene.
The body was sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital for an autopsy, the police official said.

Senior police officials visited the location following the incident, and an investigation was underway. The police have launched operations in Baghmara and nearby areas to arrest those responsible for the murder.
