A farmer was allegedly beaten to death by his rivals in Narail's Lohagara upazila on Thursday night.
Sufal Biswas, son of Anil Biswas of Kalyanpur village of the upazila, was just 36 years old.

According to family members, Sufal was retting jute outside his house on Thursday afternoon.
At that time Rostam Sheikh along with his two sons Tamal and Rubel came and thrashed Sufal with a hammer and iron rod, leaving him seriously injured.

Sufal died on Thursday night while undergoing treatment at Khulna Medical College Hospital.
Nasir Uddin, officer-in-charge (OC) of Lohagara Police Station, said that Sufal might have been killed over previous enmity.
Attempts are being made to arrest those involved in the murder, added the OC.
