Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Md Tajul Islam on Thursday said that there is no scope for food scarcity and distribution of relief would not be affected even if the coronavirus pandemic’s prevalence is prolonged in the country.
“The government has enough preparation and ability,” he said while distributing relief in Laksam and Manoharganj upazilas in Cumilla.
With the direction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina all the ministries are working to fight corona situation, he said, adding that “Shortly we will succeed.”
Deputy Commissioner Md Abul Fazal Mir and Superintendent of Police Syed Nurul Islam were also present there among others.
Meanwhile, seven more people died from coronavirus in Bangladesh in the last 24 hours till Thursday, taking the death toll in the country to 127.
Besides, 414 more people tested positive for coronavirus during the period, raising the number of such cases in the country to 4186.
