Satkhira, Oct 4 (UNB) – Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive arrested a man along with eight gold bars worth Tk 40.80 lakh from Laxmidari bordering area in Bhomra land port here on Thursday.
The arrestee is Mohammad Alam, 22, son of Rajab Ali Sheikh of Sadar upazila.
Tipped off, a team of BGB-33 conducted a drive in the area and arrested Alam, said Commanding officer of BGB-33, Lieutenant Colonel Golam Mahiuddin Khandakar.
Later, they recovered eight gold bars, weighing one kg each, after searching his body.
