Religious Affairs Ministry calls for special prayers for Hadi
According to a post on Inquilab Moncho’s official Facebook page, the body is now being taken to the cold storage of the National Institute of CardioVascular Diseases (NICVD) to preserve it.
On Saturday, the body will be taken to Manik Mia Avenue where his namaz-e-Janaza will be held followed by Zuhr prayer, according to the post.
Later, the body will be transported to the central mosque of Dhaka University and will be laid to rest beside National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, as demanded by his family, the post reads.
The organisation urged supporters to pay tributes to the ‘fearless hero who sacrificed his life to protect justice, freedom and sovereignty’ by maintaining disciplined positions along both sides of the road from the airport to Shahbagh.
On December 12, Hadi was shot in the head while moving in a rickshaw on Culvert Road in Puratan Paltan.
He underwent surgery at Dhaka Medical College Hospital and was later admitted to Evercare Hospital. For advanced treatment, he was airlifted to Singapore where he passed away on the night of December 18.
