Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun on Thursday told Parliament that more than 3,000 industrial factories were set up in the BSCIC industrial estates since 2009.
“A total of 3,064 industrial factories have been set up in 5,667 industrial plots during the three tenures of the current government,” he said while answering a question from Awami League MP Mozaffar Hossain (Jamalpur-5) during the tabled question-answer session in the House.

The Minister said 82 industrial estates of Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) have been set up across the country.
There are 12,313 industrial plots in these industrial estates. Among these, 5,844 industrial factories have been set up in 10,750 plots. Besides, 1,563 industrial plots are waiting for allotment.
