At least 50 people have been injured in violent clashes involving protesters, police, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Jubo League, and Chhatra League members during the ongoing nationwide ‘complete shutdown’ over quota reform.
As of 2:30 pm, the confrontation at the Savar bus stand area continued, with all local establishments remaining closed.
Witnesses reported that hundreds of students from various schools and colleges assembled at the Pakiza area near the Savar bus stand on the Dhaka-Aricha highway from 11:00 am. The situation escalated into a confrontation with police, BGB, and activists of Chhatra League and Jubo League, resulting in an exchange of brickbats.

Around 12:30 pm, Chhatra League and Jubo League members, led by Manjurul Alam Rajib, Chairman of the Savar Upazila Parishad and General Secretary of the Upazila Awami League, joined the protest in the Pakiza area, chanting slogans promoting peace. However, they retreated in the face of student resistance as police fired tear gas shells and rubber bullets, prompting protesters to retaliate with brick chips.
Locals reported several protesters injured by rubber bullets and tear gas, who were subsequently taken to various medical centers for treatment.
