The bodies of two more people who drowned after two boats capsized in the Padma River on Friday were found on Sunday, raising the death toll from the incident to eight.
The body of bride’s cousin Rubaiya Aktar, 12, daughter of Rabiul Islam, was found around 1:30pm while that of bride’s aunt Akhi Khatun, 25, around 3pm, said Rajshahi Additional District Magistrate Abu Aslam.
The second boat was also recovered from the river.
However, bride Sweety Khatun of Aliganj in Poba upazila still remained missing over the incident.
The rescue operation will continue until the missing one is rescued, Aslam said.
Earlier on Saturday, police and members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered the bodies of five people while another died on Friday.
Nine people, including a bride, went missing after two boats sank in the Padma River at Char Khidirpur on Friday evening due to strong currents.
