Dhaka, Oct 16 (UNB) – The fifth session of the 11th parliament will begin on November 7 next following a 56-day recess.
President Abdul Hamid on Wednesday summoned the session exercising the power bestowed upon him as per Article 72 (1) of the Constitution, said a Parliament Secretariat media release.
Prior to the start of the session at 4:15pm, the Business Advisory Committee of Parliament will sit in a meeting with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair to fix the duration and businesses of the session.
On September 12 last, the fourth session of the 11th parliament was prorogued after only four sittings.
Only one bill was passed and five others were placed during the session that began on September 8.
