Flood situation is likely to remain unchanged in Kurigram, Gaibandha, Bogura, Jamalpur, Naogaon, Natore, Sirajganj, Tangail, Manikganj, Munshiganj, Madaripur, Faridpur, Chandpur, Rajbari, Dhaka, Shariatpur and Brahmanbaria in the next 24 hours, according to a report of Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC).
Besides, 20 rivers were flowing above danger level, said the report of FFWC on Monday.
Seventeen districts have been affected by flood in the country, said the report.
Flood situation is likely to deteriorate in the country’s northern and north-eastern districts as heavy rains been forecast in India’s West Bengal, Assam and Meghalaya, it said.
In Bogura, several thousand people of three upazilas of the district have been marooned due to rise in river water caused by heavy rainfall activities and onrush of water from the upstream.
The Jamuna River was flowing 112 centimeter above its danger level at Sariakandi point while Bangali River was flowing 23 cm above its red mark on Monday, worsening flood situation of the district.
A total of 167 villages under 18 unions of Sariakandi, Sonatala and Dhunat upazilas of the district have been flooded, leaving 1.33 lakh people marooned.

Azhar Ali, District Relief and Disaster officer, said 6,340 hectares of crops land have been inundated while 60 educational institutions were damaged in Sariakandi upazila.
Besides, 15 kilometers of road of the upazila went under flood water, snapping road communications.
Some 5,636 families of Sonatala upazila and 1525 families in Dhunat upazila have been affected by flood water, causing sufferings to people. Some 9,038 hectares of land were damaged by floodwater in the two upazilas, he said.
The local administration has allocated Tk 13 lakh cash and 600 metric tons of rice for the flood-hit people, said Azhar Ali.
Besides, Tk 6 lakh for fodder, 4 lakh for baby food and 6,000 packets of dry foods were also allocated.
In Faridpur, flood situation worsened further with the increase of Padma river water level. The Padma was flowing 119 cm above its danger level on Monday.
Sultan Mahmud, executive engineer of Water Development Board, said 45 meters of flood protection embankment of Water Development Board at Sadipur Bil Gazaria area has been washed away due to strong current around 4 pm today, forcing people to take shelter on high places.
All the areas of four unions under Charbhadrashon upazila were inundated by floodwater, leaving 15,000 families marooned.
Many roads were submerged by floodwater, disrupting communication in the district.
Mohammad Alvir Hossain, Agriculture officer of Charbhadrason upazila, said 530 hectares of crops land were damaged in the floodwater.
Jesmine Sultana, Charbhadrason Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), said the work of distributing relief materials among the flood victims is underway while all kinds of necessary assistance are being provided in the shelter centers of the upazila.
Mahmudul Haque, project implementation officer, said already 69.5 mts of rice, 1400 packets of dry foods and 100 packets of baby food have been distributed among the flood victims.

In Kurigram, the Dharla River was flowing 26 cm above its danger point at Bridge point area while Brahmmaputra river was flowing 57 cm above the red mark at Chilmari point and 44 cm up at Nunkhawa point on Monday.
Over 3 lakh people of the district remained stranded in floodwater in nine upazilas for the last one month.
District Civil Surgeon Dr Habibur Rahman, said 22 people including 17 children have died so far in the district till date.
50,000 dwelling houses and 10,000 crops lands were damaged in the flood water as one third of the district have been flooded.
Besides, five schools collapsed while 139 schools were damaged by the flood water while 37 kilometer road and 31 kiometer embankment were also affected.
