A VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage, which departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 3:45 pm (local time), landed at King Khaled International Airport in Riyadh at 6:51 pm (local time).
Governor of Riyadh Prince Faisal bin Bandar and Ambassador of Bangladesh to Saudi Arabia Golam Moshi received the Prime Minister at the airport.
During the Prime Minister’s visit, Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia will sign two documents on defence and ICT cooperation. These are MoU on Defence Cooperation between Bangladesh and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and MoU on Cooperation in the ICT Sector.
Besides, a number of MoUs -- both in public and private sectors -- are also likely to be signed during the visit.
During her stay in Riyadh, the Prime Minister will have a meeting with King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz al Saud at his royal palace on Wednesday afternoon.
She will have a meeting with the leaders of Council of Saudi Chamber (CSC) and Riyadh Chamber of Commerce at her place of residence on Wednesday morning.
Sheikh Hasina will also inaugurate the Bangladesh Chancery building at the Diplomatic Quarters, Riyadh.
She will leave Riyadh for Madinah by air on Wednesday at 7:30 pm (local time) and reach Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Airport at 9 pm (local time).
The Prime Minister will offer ziarat at the Rowza Mobarak of Holy Prophet (PBUH) at Masjid Al-Nabawi on Wednesday night.
On Thursday, she will leave Madinah for Jeddah by air and reach King Abdul Aziz International Airport, Jeddah at 11:15 am (local time).
Sheikh Hasina will lay the foundation stone of the Chancery building of Bangladesh Consulate General in Jeddah at noon.
The Prime Minister will perform Umrah after Esha prayers on Thursday. She will also offer prayers at Masjid Al Haram in Makkah.
On Friday, Sheikh Hasina will depart King Abdul Aziz International Airport, Jeddah for home in the early hours and reach Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 11:45am (local time).
