Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Tuesday discussed with the authorities concerned measures to curb pollution in Gulshan Lake, beautify areas and enhance civic amenities around the lake.
The discussions were held at an important meeting on the development and environmental protection of the Gulshan-Banani-Baridhara Lake at the Prime Minister’s Office in the Bangladesh Secretariat, said a release issued by the PM’s Press Wing.

“Detailed discussions were held at the meeting on various issues, including curbing pollution in Gulshan Lake, maintaining ecological balance, beautification and improving civic amenities around the lake,” the release said.
Officials concerned also highlighted the current condition of the lake and shared their views on various plans and initiatives for its sustainable development.
Housing and Public Works Minister Zakaria Taher, State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Mir Shahe Alam, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister ABM Abdus Sattar, Administrator of Dhaka South City Corporation Abdus Salam, Administrator of Dhaka North City Corporation Safiqul Islam Khan, PM’s Assistant Private Secretary and representative for Dhaka-17 constituency Abdur Rahman Sani, and Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkah Chairman Engineer Md Reazul Islam, among others, attended the meeting.
Secretaries and senior officials of the relevant ministries and divisions were also present.
