Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday inaugurated the newly constructed 15-storey building of Bangladesh Bar Council in Dhaka.
The building with state-of-the-art facilities costing Tk 138 crore has adequate office space, meeting rooms, two conference rooms, record room, store room, waiting area, cafeteria, day-care centre, exhibition space and many other facilities.

On her arrival of the venue, Chief Justice Obaidul Hassan and Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Haq welcomed her. Later she visited different parts of the building.
Built under the supervision of the Law and Justice Division and designed by the Department of Architecture, the Bar Council building has five tribunal rooms, multipurpose hall and separate prayers room.

More than hundred lawyers can live in the building that also houses a TV lounge, a kitchen and a dining hall.
After inaugurating the building, she joined the lawyers' grand rally at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan as the chief guest.
