Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday expressed deep shock and sorrow over the death of Patuakhali -1 constituency MP and former state minister for religious affairs advocate Md Shahjahan Mia.
In a condolence message, she said Shahjahan Mia was a dedicated leader of Bangladesh Awami League.

He performed various responsibilities of the party, including as the president of Patuakhali district Awami League, with loyalty, she said.
“At his death, the party lost a skilled politician. I have lost a loyal political comrade.”

The Prime Minister prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family members.
