Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Houssain (Kaikobad) on Sunday said Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will inaugurate hajj flight on April 17.
He said this while talking to reporters after a meeting of the National Committee on Hajj Management held at the Secretariat with the prime minister in chair.
The minister also said the Prime Minister is highly concerned about the overall welfare of the pilgrims and is expected to visit a Hajj camp within the next few days where pilgrims will stay before departure.
When asked whether rising fuel prices could create complications for Hajj flights, the minister said, “Pilgrims are guests of Allah. Insha’Allah, everything will be managed and there will be no complications.”
This year, some 78,500 pilgrims from Bangladesh are set to go to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj.
