The performance agreements were inked at a function at the PMO in the afternoon.
PM's Principal Secretary Md Nojibur Rahman and Principal Coordinator on SDG Affairs at the PMO Md Abul Kalam Azad were present at the event presided over by PMO Secretary Sajjadul Hassan.
The seven organisations are Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA), Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA), Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), Public-Private Partnership Authority (PPPA), NGO Affairs Bureau, National Skills Development Authority and the Ashrayan-2 Project.
Sajjadul Hassan signed the agreements on behalf of the PMO while BEZA Executive Chairman Paban Chowdhury, BEPZA Executive Chairman Maj Gen SM Salahuddin Islam, BIDA Secretary Mosharraf Hossain, PPPA Chief Executive Officer Md Alkama Siddiqui, acting Director General of NGO Affairs Bureau Md Shahadat Hossain, NSDA Executive Chairman Faruk Hossain and Project Director of Ashrayan-2 Project Md Mahbub Hossain on behalf of their respective organisations.
Speaking on the occasion, Azad said as much as the APAs will be prepared efficiently, the pace of the country's development will be accelerated to that extent.
Putting emphasis on making the annual confidential report (ACR) more efficiently, he said it is linked to APAs. "The goal of the APAs will be attained when we can make the ACR more effective," he said.
Mentioning that many countries have introduced many models, the principal SDG coordinator said, "But the APA is Bangladesh's homegrown model ... it's our pride."
Pointing out that the PMO gave the leadership in this regard, Azad said organisations under the PMO are performing well in implementing the APAs.
He, however, said they will have to improve their performance further to achieve cent percent success in APA.
