Newly appointed Prime Minister’s Political Adviser Zahir Uddin Swapon on Sunday paid tribute to late President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia by placing floral wreaths at their graves in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar.
He laid the wreaths around 10:00am, said Khandaker Kawser Hossain, media coordinator to the Prime Minister’s political adviser.
A large number of BNP leaders and activists, led by acting Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, were present.
They offered Fateha there and a munajat seeking the salvation of the departed souls of Zaiur Rahman and Khaleda Zia.
BNP leaders from Barishal district and city units, along with activists from Gournadi, Agailjhara and adjoining upazilas, were present.
