The 140-member strong contingent flew to Mali's capital Bamako, Police Headquarters Assistant Inspector General-AIG (Media) Md Sohel Rana said on Monday.
Of the contingent members, 70 are led by Deputy Commander (Additional SP) ANF Maruf Abdullah for 2nd group of 7th rotation under Bangladesh Formed Police Unit (BANFPU-1) and 70 are led by Deputy Commander (Additional SP) Md Saifuzzaman for 2nd group of 3rd rotation under BANFPU-2.

Additional Inspector General (HRM) of Police headquarters Md Mazharul Islam, DIG (Media and Planning) Md Toufique Mahbub Chowdhury and officials of UN Affairs Operations saw off the peacekeeping team at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Sohel Rana said.
It may be mentioned that 140 members of both the units had reached Mali as advance team on December 4. They have been performing their duties in their respective areas after completion of 14-day quarantines.

Bangladesh Police have been performing duties in Mali under the UN peacekeeping mission since 2013.
