However, investigators say they are very much hopeful of a breakthrough very soon as they have been conducting investigation considering several possible scenarios, including previous enmity and professional conflicts.
Turag Thana police of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) recovered the body of GCC Executive Engineer Delwear Hossain from Beribadh area under Turag police station in the afternoon of May 11 as an unidentified body.
Family members of Delwar identified the body on May 12 morning at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital morgue of Sher-e-Banglanagar in the city after Turag Thana police sent it to the hospital morgue on May 11 night.
Contacted, Nurul Muttakin, officer-in-charge of Turag Police Station told UNB that the GCC Executive Engineer might have been strangled to death and the body bore marks of injury on the back side.
Khodeza Khatun, the wife of the victim, filed a case with the police station on May 12 accusing some unidentified miscreants, Muttakin said.
Replying to a question, the OC of Turagh Police Station said though they are yet to get any clue behind the killing but they are very much hopeful to solve the case very soon.
“We have been conducting investigation taking some possible reasons, including family feud, office rivalry and conflict with contractors of the GCC. However, actual reason behind the killing will be gotten after completion of the investigation,”the OC Muttakin said.

Quoting family members, the OC said Delwar’s mobile phone was found switched off since he left his Mirpur-2 residence for attending office in Gazipur on May 11 morning.
Later his body was found on the Beribadh area under the police station in the afternoon.
