President Abdul Hamid on Monday expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of former foreign secretary and immediate-past High Commissioner to India Syed Muazzem Ali.
In a condolence message, the President said, "His death is an irreparable loss to the country. The nation will remember him for long with due respect.”
The President also conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
He breathed his last around 11:45am, family sources said, adding that he had been suffering from
Muazzem Ali breathed his last at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in the capital on Monday at the age of 75.
