He made the urge while addressing at a programme of laying foundation of Abdul Kadir Molla hall of President Abdul Hamid Medical College and Hospital at the premises of the college.
“It is a matter of joy that a medical college has been established after my name. But it will hurt if any patient dies due to the lapses of the doctors. I do not expect such incidents,” he said.
The President said “I am requesting all students to study properly. Teachers will have to play the vital role to make the students skillful.”
He added that this medical college will not only serve people of Kishoreganj, it will be helpful for the adjacent areas like Sunamgnaj, Netrokona and Mymensingh. So doctors will have to make sure quality service in the hospital.
Referring to the admission of the foreign students in the college, President said “Some students from the neighboring countries such as India, Bhutan, and Nepal are going to admit into the college next year. So all concerned people including teachers and students will have to be alert in ensuring good environment for studying as it will reflect country’s image to them.”
President also emphasized that all concerned people have to pay more attention to produce skilled doctors to provide quality service.
Chairman of the medical college Rashida Khanom presided over the programme while director of the college Rasel Ahmed Tuhin spoke at the programme.
Earlier on the last of his three-day visit, President Abdul Hamid inspected the possible site at Joika Union of Karimganj Upazilla for Kishoreganj University in the morning.
The President attended several public meetings and held views-exchange meetings with a cross-section of people and different professional bodies today.
This is the third visit to Kishoreganj since he took oath of office as President for the second consecutive term on April 24.
