Cabinet Secretary Md Mahbub Hossain on Monday said the process of accepting the resignations of the three technocrats in the cabinet and four advisers to the prime minister is underway.
There is no bar on them from holding office before the execution of their resignation letter, he told journalists at the Secretariat on Monday.

“In response to the prime minister's request, the technocrat minister, state minister and four advisers submitted their resignations. There is a procedure to implement the resignation letter, we have started that process. It will come into effect after the completion of the process,” said Mahbub.
Prime Minister's Economic Affairs Adviser Mashiur Rahman; Adviser on Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury and International Relations Adviser Dr Gowher Rizvi submitted their resignations, he said.
When pointed out that one of them (Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar) has attended office, the Cabinet Secretary said that only after their resignation is accepted, they can no longer attend office.
Asked when their resignations would be accepted, the cabinet secretary said, "There is no catch-all law that has to be settled within so many days." There is a process, approval has to be taken.
He also said the resignation letter will be accepted and gazetted.
The secretary said those whose appointment process has been done from the Cabinet Division, (the effective process of resignation) is being done from here. Those requested by the prime minister have submitted their resignations.
