Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus on Sunday held a meeting with the leaders of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and discussed the country’s overall current situation and the upcoming national election, scheduled to take place in February next year.
Industries Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan and National Security Adviser Dr Khalilur Rahman were also present at the meeting held at the state guesthouse Jamuna in the afternoon.
The four-member delegation of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami was led by its Nayeb-e-Ameer Syed Abdullah Muhammad Taher. Its other members were Jamaat Secretary General Prof Mia Golam Porwar, and Assistant Secretaries General Rafiqul Islam Khan and Hamidur Rahman Azad.
The Chief Adviser will also hold talks with the leaders of National Citizen Party this evening before the meeting with BNP.
Earlier, the scheduled meeting with the BNP was rescheduled from 3:00pm to 7:30pm today, said Chief Adviser’s Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumder on Sunday.
