Patrols on the Feni border have been stepped up by the members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) following the Indian Border Security Force's (BSF) push-in on the border.
Intelligence activities have also been increased, according to the BGB.
The battle between India and Pakistan caused worry and fear among the people living in the 126-kilometer border area of Feni district.
However, the residents of the border area have seen some relief as a result of the intensified intelligence efforts and the bolstering of BGB patrols.
Feni has a 95-kilometer land border, with the remaining 8 kilometres being river border ways, according to the BGB's information, with India. These river and land border routes are guarded by the Feni Battalion (4 BGB). Along with the BGB, Ansar VDP members are also on patrol.
Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, the commander (director) of Feni Battalion BGB, stated that the BGB is striving to safeguard the Feni border and give local residents security in light of the current circumstances and different scenarios on the border.
Additionally, police, intelligence, and local administration operations have been reinforced.
He also said that a warning has been issued to prevent illegal infiltration through the border. Additionally, in order to conduct more patrols, police and Ansar members are trying to augment the number of personnel at the border.
Speaking with the people who live along the Feni border, it is known that the border remains normal despite the conflict between India and Pakistan. No push-in incident has taken place here yet.
The BGB, law enforcement, and the local population will resist any activity by the BSF.
Saiful Islam, deputy commissioner of Feni, said: "Feni's law and order situation is good. We are monitoring the India-Pakistan dispute as a border district to ensure that there are no issues here."
"All forms of collaboration will be offered to meet the requirements of the nation whenever the BGB asks for," he added.
Earlier, India’s Border Security Force (BSF) reportedly pushed 80 Indian nationals into Bangladesh on Wednesday, labelling them as Bangladeshis.
According to BGB sources, BSF pushed 27 people into Bangladesh through the Shantipur border and another 23 through Achalong Para of Taindong Union.
Besides, 30 people were pushed in through the Ruposhi Para border of Panchhari Upazila.
