Qatari Minister of Labour Dr Ali bin Saeed bin Samikh Al Marri paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Sunday evening and discussed bilateral issues.
Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary, Atikur Rahman Rumon said the meeting was a courtesy call and the two sides discussed issues of mutual interest between Bangladesh and Qatar.
After the meeting, he said the Prime Minister hosted a dinner for the visiting Qatari minister.
Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Humaiun Kobir and Qatari Ambassador Braik Saeed Al-Samikh were also present at the meeting.
Earlier in the day, the Qatari minister arrived in Dhaka on a two-day official visit as the two countries eye stronger cooperation.
During the trip, he is expected to hold meetings with officials from the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
