The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested eight more people, including BNP leaders and activists, from different parts of the country in connection with their alleged involvement in vandalism, arson and sabotage during the nationwide blockades and hartals, enforced by BNP and other like-minded parties.
Adam Ali Sarkar, joint convener of Shahzadpur upazila unit Swechasebak Dal and Sarwar Uddin Selim, convener of Chattogram district unit Swechasebak Dal were among the arrestees.

They were arrested from Pallabi area in Dhaka on Tuesday, said a press release of Rab.

So far, RAB has arrested a total of 890 people in connection with violence and sabotage in different parts of the country, including the attack and sabotage on October 28.
In addition, RAB's intelligence surveillance has been increased in important places, including bus stands and railway stations, to prevent any kind of vandalism and violence, said the RAB press release.

Besides, a total of 422 patrol teams of Rab have been deployed across the country to maintain law and order.
