Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested the chief of the infamous "Mosharraf Bahini," also known as Mosharraf Hossain alias Lambu Mosharraf alias Galakata Mosharraf alias Gangchil Mosharraf, and his five accomplices from different areas of Mohammadpur on Sunday night, and also recovered foreign firearms, ammunition, domestic weapons and drugs from their possessions.
On the basis of intelligence information, the operational team of RAB-2 conducted drives in different areas of Mohammadpur on the night of 27 February.
During the drives, the elite force arrested Md. Mosharraf and his five accomplices-- Md. Billal aka Md. Billal Hossain aka Chora Billal (30), Md. Mohan aka Bike Mohan (31), Sahabuddin Sabu aka Pirate Sabu (44),) Md. Rubel aka Trawler Rubel (33), and Md. Sumon Mia aka Sumon Hossain (30).

During the drive, they also seized one foreign pistol, one magazine, four rounds of ammunition, three large knives, two chapatis, two knives, one Chinese ax, one grill cutter, five mobiles and cash from their possession.
During the preliminary interrogation, the arrestees provided information about their involvement in various terrorist activities.
During interrogation, the arrestees also revealed that they have been carrying out various terrorist activities including looting, extortion, robbery, rape and drug trafficking in different areas of the capital including Mohammadpur and its adjoining Aminbazar, Turag, Hazaribagh, Keraniganj and Savar for a long time. The number of members of their terrorist group is 25-30.

The members of this terrorist group, led by Lambu Musharraf, were divided into different groups and carried out other criminal activities including land grabbing, housing extortion, waterway extortion, market and bus stand extortion, robbery, kidnapping and drug trafficking.
