A light rain drenched Dhaka this noon and afternoon — offering residents of the city some relief from the scorching heat.
At the same time, it brought woes for street vendors and commuters.
Many were seen walking due to shortage of vehicles during the rain.
The Met office recorded one millimeter of rainfall till 12 pm, said meteorologist Mohammad Abul Kalam Mallik.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate elsewhere over the north Bay.
Meanwhile, Met office predicted that light to moderate rains or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning flashes are likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy to heavy rainfalls at places over the country.
