Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to address a grand rally at Rangpur Zilla School ground on Wednesday, her first such public speech here in last 12 years organisers said.
From the rally, she will inaugurate seven development projects and lay foundation stones of five others, including Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Novotheatre.
She is likely to hold a view exchange meeting with government officials at Rangpur division.

The entire Rangpur has taken a festive look to welcome the prime minister on her first visit to the district in last five years.
Enthusiasm has been seen among the local leaders and activists of the Awami League and its front and associate bodies. PM Hasina is also the president of ruling Awami League.
The northern city has been decorated with banners, festoons, billboards and posters with photos of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his daughter, the prime minister.
Rangpur District and Metropolitan Awami League held several preparatory meetings to ensure a grand reception to the PM.

Joint Convener of Rangpur Metropolitan Awami League, Abul Kashem said that people from all strata of life are eagerly waiting to welcome the prime minister.
He hoped to mobilise over one million people in the grand rally.
Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur Mohammad Mobasswer Hasan told reporters that they have taken all required measures for the PM's arrival
"Appropriate security arrangements have been taken to this end," he said.
