Rape case in Uttara: Main suspect, associate arrestedA sixth grader girl was raped allegedly by the driver of a school bus at Horirampur area under Uttara Sector-18 of the capital.

Police arrested the suspected driver Harun-ur-Rashid, 50, and his associate Md tushar,46, in connection with the incident.

Though the incident took place on October 12 last year, it came to light later when the victim’s physical condition was deteriorating.

According to the First Information Report (FIR) registered with Turag police station, the driver forcibly raped the sixth grader girl at about 11:30 am on October 12 last year by picking her up in the bus of Milestone School and College on the east side of Sector 18 Madhubilata Building, Uttara Horirumpur area.

Her parents recently came to understand due to physical symptom that she was pregnant. The father of the victim filed a case with Turag police station on January 21 accusing the drive Harun and his associate Tushar.

Investigation Officer of the case SI Md Ibrahim Molla said his team arrested Tushar in the same day evening from Uttara Sector-13, while driver Harun from Ershad Nagar of Gazipur on January 22 afternoon.

The driver has given confessional statement under Section-164 of CrPc before a magistrate of a Dhaka CMM court admitting his involvement in the rape incident.
