Narayanganj, July 7 (UNB) – A court here on Sunday granted a five-day remand for a madrasa principal in a case filed under the Pornography Act over the rape of 12 female students of his institution.
Maulana Al Amin, son of Renu Mia of Muradnagar upazila in Cumilla, is the founder and principal of Baitul Huda Cadet Madrasa in Fatullah.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Kawsar Alam passed the order after police produced him before his court seeking a 10-day remand.
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) members arrested Al-Amin from his institution at Mahmudpur of Fatullah on July 4.
Al-Amin confessed to raping and sexually assaulting 12 female students since 2018. He used to show porn videos to the girls and make porn videos using their pictures.
Two cases -- one under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act and the other under the Pornography Act – were against Al-Amin.
