Summit Group has appointed Md Reaz Uddin as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Summit Meghnaghat-I Power Company Limited (337 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant) and Summit Meghnaghat II Power Company Limited (583 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant).
The Board of Directors has officially approved this significant appointment.
Summit Meghnaghat-I is a joint venture involving Taiyo Life Insurance (Japan), JERA (Japan), and Summit. Meanwhile, Summit Meghnaghat-II is a collaborative effort between GE (USA), JERA (Japan), and Summit.

Reaz has been an invaluable asset to the Summit Group since 2011. Before this elevation, he held the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Summit Meghnaghat-II Power Company Ltd.
He also served as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for both Summit Meghnaghat -I Power Company Ltd. and Summit Bibiyana Power Company Ltd.
With over 32 years of extensive experience in the power generation sector, Reaz brings a wealth of expertise to his new role. His career highlights include leading high-level negotiations, successfully executing large-scale infrastructure projects, and efficiently managing plant operations and maintenance (O & M) teams.
He has played a crucial role in the development, financing, construction, and operation of power plants with a combined capacity exceeding 2,000 MW, and has been instrumental in securing over US$ 1.1 billion in foreign project financings for Bangladesh, according to a press release.
