The BDRCS, jointly with the government, is working to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 in the country, said a press release.
The release said the four hospitals --Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College Hospital, Kuwait Bangladesh Friendship Government Hospital, Dhaka Medical College Hospital and Kurmitola General Hospital-- received PPE worth Taka 2.27 crore .
These PPE were handed over at a simple ceremony at the training room of the headquarters of the BDRCS in the capital.
BDRCS Vice Chairman and IFRC Governing Board member Dr Habibe Millat, MP, was present at the PPE handover ceremony as the chief guest.
Society Secretary General M Firoz Salahuddin, Deputy Secretary General M Rafiqul Islam, Swiss Red Cross Bangladesh Country Representative Amitabh Sharma, Kurmitola General Hospital Director Brigadier General Jamil Ahmed, Dhaka Medical College Hospital Director Brigadier General AKM Nasir Uddin, Kuwait Moitree Hospital Director Dr Sarwar ul Alam were present among others.
Society Vice Chairman Dr Habibe Millat, MP, formally handed over these health safety equipment like PPE to the directors of these four hospitals to be used for the doctors and other health workers.
